Design Experience Hotel is the renovation project of the former production factory of Nazareno Gabrielli, located in Tolentino, in the heart of the Marche. The hotel includes 30 rooms inspired by various designers of the 20th century with a re-functionalization of the historical structure and the adjacent park, both protected by the Superintendence, according to a process of transformation of the old building into a hotel-museum. The project, wanted and promoted by the entrepreneur Franco Moschini (Moschini SpA), already President for many years of the Poltrona Frau located in Tolentino (MC), has led to the restoration of a historic building demonstrating that it is possible to intervene on the built through a process of enhancement of contemporary architecture, combining the testimonial enhancement of the preservation of a historic building.

The rooms house over 400 elements of furniture, installations and artwork designed by iconic Italian designers such as Michele De Lucchi, Gae Aulenti, Gio Ponti, Castiglioni, Lissoni, Cerri etc. who have designed for Poltrona Frau and other companies such as Cassina, Cappelllini, Gebruder, Thonet, and Gufram. The Hotel is also composed of some rooms dedicated to artistic movements (Viennese Secession, Arts & Crafts, Pop, Modern Movement). The final result, far from the simple visual and tactile narration, is a high-level philological and critical work.

Sustainability aspects

The first project in the world with the application of a double certification system GBC Historic Building (the first Platinum level) and LEED v4 BD+C for Hospitality (the first LEED Hospitality Platinum Level in Italy and third in the world for the points). The project envisages a holistic approach aimed at applied sustainability, from the first design phases, adopting a model of "sustainable reconstruction" considering also the restoration of a post-earthquake building (2016) according to the process of recovering one of the symbolic spaces of Tolentino.

The hospitality project born from the cultural operation that tells the story of Italian and international design of the last 60 years - has obtained two certifications of excellence for sustainability, both with the highest score. This is the LEED V4 certification for Platinum Level Hospitality with 87 points, which certifies Interno Marche as the first LEED Platinum Hotel in Italy in the sector and third in the world; and the GBC certificación of Historic Building, protocol for conservation, Redevelopment, recovery and integration of historic buildings that attests Interno Marche as the first building certified GBC HB Platinum level in the world with 95 points and also places it as one of the best examples of the Post Sisma Centro Italia Conservation 2016.
